Year 9 Dance have commenced their ‘Learnt Dance’ assessment, which is a whole class dance routine, in the contemporary dance genre.
This year, due to the large size of the class, the students have been separated into two groups to learn and choreograph movement.
Students voted for the song title ‘In This Shirt’. The music gives many options for the dancers to experiment with movement.
All students have contributed with enthusiasm and the routine is looking very strong. Sequences have been created by Mrs Butterworth and the students are given structured improvisation tasks to choreograph movement in small groups.
The routine will be performed to an audience in June.
