Today, Friday 16 June 2023, is the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
This 17th-Century feast celebrates the humanity of Jesus, in particular, his love for us.
This feast invites us to
reflect upon Christ’s immense love for us, and how we might share that love
with others, especially the poor. A few years ago, Pope Francis tweeted, ‘The
Feast of the Sacred Heart reminds us that God loved us first: God is always
waiting for us, welcoming us into His heart, into His love.’
May we, the faith community of Our Lady of Mercy, always be open to God’s love and may we be that live for others. Amen.
